Thursday July 29, 2010Adam was back at the orthodontist to have more metal installed in his little mouth. He already had a palatal expander and braces on his top front teeth. Now he has a medieval looking tongue thrust device.
The device is installed behind his bottom front teeth and has little metal spikes to keep his tongue from thrusting forward. Unfortunately he got his tongue impaled on the hooks a couple times and Helen had to pull his tongue forward to free it. Helen eventually had to take him back later in the day to have the hooks filed down. It helped some, but he still got his tongue stuck a couple more times before he finally got the hang of it.
