Our neighborhood has a tradition called "ghosting" where, during the weeks leading up to Halloween, kids ring their friend's doorbell, leave candy, etc, and a note, and then run away. The family that was ghosted is supposed to display the note at their front door to keep from getting ghosted multiple times.
The kids have big fun with ghosting - preparing the bag of goodies and then picking just the right victim. Adam almost got caught. He had to hide in some bushes for a good while during his getaway because the kid came to the door so fast and then proceeded to scan the area for some time trying to catch the ghost.
