There's fish down there!

Derek, it's my turn
Wherever we go, the kids always want to play miniature golf but we're always moving on to something else and almost always say no. We finally relented and the kids had the best time. They were so into it and ran around shrieking with excitement the whole time. Myrtle Beach has to be the miniature golf capital because it seemed like there was a miniature golf course on every corner.
The kids love to get me on the Scrambler whenever we go to an amusement park that has one. I don't mind up and down, but I can't take round and round. I don't think I felt quite right for a couple of days after the ride.
We decided to backtrack a little to see Brookgreen Gardens and we were so glad that we did
Memorial Day tribute
The place was incredible and the scale and diversity was unexpected
...and all the firm and bountiful breasts were a nice bonus too
Helen and Adam try to figure out where they are on the map
Our own little muse next to The Fountain of the Muses
One incredible setting after another
We found this little guy along one of the paths
There were lots of whimsical touches as well

There was even a zoo with all kinds of rescued animals
And, of course, a butterfly house
One of the rangers came looking for us. It turns out we were the last ones to leave.
On the way out of Myrtle Beach we hopped out to take a walk on the beach
We read about Calabash North Carolina having great seafood so we went a little out of our way to try it out
From the complimentary hush puppy fritters with honey butter that melted in our mouth to my delicious seafood platter pictured here to the awesome homemade cocktail sauce - we were glad we made the trip

We had a nice breakfast on the hotel deck overlooking the boardwalk and then walked around the boardwalk afterwards. It was only morning, but you could tell it was going to be a hot day. The weather had been reasonably mild in Savannah and Charleston and we were hoping it would continue.
After walking around the boardwalk and playing mini golf we decided to backtrack a little and go to Brookgreen Gardens after reading about it on the Gaiddus family road trip blog. We were so glad that we did. That place was incredible.
Once again we were behind. I figured it would only take a couple hours to see Brookgreen Gardens and we would be done by lunch, but it didn't work out that way. We stayed a little longer at the boardwalk and then the gardens were so enjoyable that we shut it down. After a walk on the beach on the way out of town, it was dinner time.
We read about Calabash North Carolina, just across the South Carolina line, having great seafood so we headed there. It was a little out of the way, but it was worth it. We stuffed ourselves and then headed for the Hampton Inn in Wrightsville Beach just outside of Wilmington. Of course, we had our usual milkshake stop along the way. Each night we would stop at Arby's for Jamocha shakes or if there were no Arby's we would stop at McDonald's for chocolate shakes or Wendy's for chocolate Frosties. Helen said I was making her fat. I told her no one's forcing her to drink it.
