One running family joke is that Helen is the Activities Director (like Julie on "Love Boat") for the boys during the Summer. Helen loves every bit of it and can't understand when other Mother's say that they're ready for their kids to go back to school.
Some of the activities this Summer included Fernbank, Chattahoochee River, Suwannee and Duluth Town Squares for fountains and ice cream, Wednesday free movies at Regal Cinemas, miniature golf, arcade, Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, library, picnics, camping, tennis, riding bikes, and lots of time at the pool.
The pictures above are from a recent trip to Adrenaline Climbing. As usual, Adam took the lead and Derek followed so that he wouldn't be outdone by his little brother. Little brothers are good motivation.
Alas, all good things must come to an end and Helen started back to school today. She was not looking forward to it and there were tears reminiscing about all the good times. After all, they'll only be one Summer of 2007 when they were 8 and 5.
